Cough syrup seizure

Patna: The directorate of revenue intelligence, on the basis of a tip-off, seized a consignment of a popular cough syrup hidden in a truck heading towards Tripura. round 34,600 bottles of the drug valued at more than Rs 27 lakh were recovered near Bhagwanpur Chowk in Vaishali on Wednesday.

Patna: Former speaker of Bihar Legislative Assembly Sadanand Singh on Wednesday gave his statement before a special CBI court in connection with a disproportionate assets case of former road construction minister Illiyas Hussain.

Patna: Vigilance Investigation Bureau on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against former clerk of Mohanpur circle, Ga ya, Gauri Singh Kushwaha in connection with a bribery case.

New posts

Patna: The state government has approved the proposal for creation of 13 new posts of havildar and 52 posts of constables for Sheohar district to escort prisoners from the district jail to the court. An official notification issued by the home department said a total of 65 new posts have been created in the wake of the high court directive.

Imposter held

Muzaffarpur: A man posing as a CBI inspector, was arrested on Wednesday. He was identified as Shubham Mishra hailing from Jharkhand.

Inquiry order

Patna: Inspector-general of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Aditya Mishra, has ordered a court of inquiry into the killing of a SSB jawan Lalit Mohan Ginni whose body was found outside the SSB camp at Bathnaha in Araria on March 29.

Vaccination

Patna: The animal and fish resources department has started a state-wide vaccination programme in cloven-footed animals, including cows, buffaloes, goat and sheep among others.
