Youth dies

Nagaon, March 28 (PTI): In two separate road accidents today, one youth died while a girl was injured in Nagaon district. Ibadul Haque, 30, was on a two-wheeler when he was knocked down by a truck at Shillongani, on the outskirts of Nagaon town. He died on the spot. In another incident, a Class X student of Nanai Higher Secondary School, Bindia Bhuyan, was injured when she was knocked down by a Bolero.

Grenade

Imphal (PTI):Two hand grenades were found at the gate of the residence of the block development officer of Moirang in Bishenpur district on Tuesday night, official sources said on Wednesday.

Mishap

Dhubri: Bahrul Islam, 30, a teacher of Bamunnagar Jatiya Bidyalay in Barperta district, died on the spot when his bike collided with a truck on Mandia-Barpeta Road on Tuesday night. Hafizur Rahman, who was riding pillion, was injured.

Two injured

Dhubri: Two persons in a car were injured when their car hit an electric post on Bir Chilarai Road near Deurapara in Bongaigaon district on Tuesday night.

Dictionary

Kokrajhar: The first ever Bodo-Meche-Nepali-English Dictionary compiled and authored by Santalal Meche of Goybari (Jaltal), Jhapa of Nepal was released on Wednesday. Lok Sabha MP from Kokrajhar Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary released the dictionary at a function at Birthamur in Jhapa district of Nepal.

Suicide

Jorhat: Rajib Das, 17, committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree at Sunia sapori in Majuli on Tuesday night. Rajib was a fisherman from Lakhimpur.

Transfer

Sivasagar: The officer-in-charge of Demow police station, Sanjiv Baruah, has been transferred on Wednesday, a day after Ulfa militants exploded a grenade on the police station campus.

Rebels held

Diphu (PTI): A KPL militant was apprehended and another injured in Karbi Anglong district in an encounter with police on Wednesday.
