Rally cry for varsity
Gaya: Around 100 people on Friday took out a motorcycle rally in support of setting up Central University of Bihar (CUB) in the town.
he demonstrators also placed a 15sqft signboard at Dariyapur village near Panchanpur on Gaya-Goh road — the proposed site for construction of CUB. Hundreds assembled at the site and performed the symbolic bhoomi pujan (worship of land) at the proposed site.

Patna: Police beat up members of the student wing of LJP with batons at R-Block leaving dozens, including the in-charge of students’ wing, Rohit Kumar, injured. The incident occurred when they were demanding students’ election at the university-level.

Patna: A 20-year-old girl, who went missing from her home under Rajiv Nagar police station on March 10, was recovered by a team of Patna police from Gurgaon near New Delhi on Thursday evening.

Special train
Patna: East Central Railway (ECR) has decided to run a summer special train between Ahmedabad-Patna-Ahmedabad (09409/09410) on each Friday between April 6 and June 29, to avoid rush during the summer vacation.

Patna: An MoU has been signed between the state transport department and State Bank of India for the online collection of road and vehicle taxes.
Arrest
Patna: Vigilance sleuths on Friday arrested two public servants for accepting bribes of Rs 17,000 and Rs 4,000. The men have been identified as Narendra Prasad and Asharfi Shah.
