Panel report on DTC

New Delhi, March 13: The parliamentary panel, which submitted its report on the Direct Taxes Code in the Lok Sabha today, has proposed widening of the income-tax slabs, increasing the exemption limit for savings and raising the ceiling for wealth tax. The report of the standing committee on finance, which scrutinised the DTC bill, will pave the way for discussions and adoption of DTC by Parliament.

AI restraint

Mumbai, March 13: The Bombay high court today restrained Air India from sending any pilot from Indian Airlines for training to fly Boeing 787 aircraft. The restraint will remain in force until the aviation ministry takes a decision on the integration of Air India and Indian Airlines.

Telenor stake

New Delhi, March 13: The Company Law Board today asked real estate firm Unitech to decide by March 19 if it wants to buy its JV partner Telenor’s 67 per cent stake in Uninor or sell its 33 per cent stake to the Norwegian telecom firm.
