Rebel held
Kokrajhar, March 10: Vijay Basumatary alias Seela, 19, an NDFB cadre, was apprehended by security forces from Chandrapara in Kokrajhar district this morning. A rifle, a hand grenade and NDFB extortion leaflets were seized from him.
Body found
Nagaon: An unidentified body of a woman, aged around 30 , was recovered from Pipol Pukhuri under Lanka police station in Nagaon district on Saturday.
Bird flu
Agartala (PTI): Bird flu has been detected in a government owned poultry farm at Gandhigram, 18km from here, official sources said on Saturday. Director of animal resource department Manoranjan Sarkar said the samples were sent to a laboratory in Bhopal which confirmed the presence of H5N1 virus in the birds.
Holi trouble
Guwahati: Dispur police on Saturday registered a case against a youth who allegedly tried to molest a woman during holy celebrations at Khanapara on Friday.
