Poachers held
Nagaon, March 6: Forest guards of Orang National Park held three poachers, Mekbor Ali, Ismail Ali and Abdul Rafique, when they were about to reach the park in a motor boat. Two handmade guns, a motorbike were seized from them.
Dharna
Guwahati: The All Adivasi Students Association of Assam will stage a three-hour dharna at the Last Gate on Wednesday seeking ST status for the community, better working conditions for tea garden workers and a thorough inquiry into the Bhuvan tea estate worker death case, its top official, Raphael Kujur, said on Tuesday evening.
Body found
Jorhat: A body with a motorbike lying next to it was found in the Bhogdoi bridge area of the bypass on Tuesday evening. Police suspect that the person may have been run over.
Appeal
Dibrugarh: The BCPL management on Tuesday appealed to the workers to resume construction at the gas cracker project at Lepetkata here. Workers have kept away from duty since Friday after one labourer died and three others were injured in CISF firing.
