Grenade at RIMS
Imphal, Feb. 26: A suspected cadre of the Peoples Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) left a hand grenade wrapped in an old newspaper at the ticket counter of the casualty department of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences at 10pm last night. Police recovered the grenade later in the night. The police said the outfit wrote on the paper to shut the casualty and out patients departments until an agreement was reached between the group and RIMS authorities.
Meeting
Kokrajhar: The Ex-BLT welfare society has decided to protect the forest wealth in the region. The decision was taken during the central executive meeting of the society here on Sunday. Former chairman of the society, Janamohan Mushahary, addressed the meeting.
Plantation
Dhubri: Altogether 500 neem saplings were planted at Balurchar in Dhubri town on Sunday as part of 10,000 neem plantation drive by an NGO to make Dhubri a neem nagari.
Fire
Dhubri: Two houses belonging to a resident of Jhagrarpar in Dhubri district, Montaz Ali, were gutted when a fire broke out on Saturday.
