Good news, tweets Bachchan

Mumbai, Feb. 20 (PTI) Amitabh Bachchan is recovering fast and may be discharged from hospital in a day or two, sources said today.

“He is doing fine now… his health is improving. He might be discharged tomorrow or a day after tomorrow,” a source at Seven Hills Hospital said.

The 69-year-old himself tweeted about the recovery. “Many aspects improving, many reports positive… your prayers work so well.”

The actor also referred to the disappearing “kites”. “The ‘kites’ gradually and slowly disappear... ‘kites’? Yes, the various drips and tubes stuck into the body.

The “prayers” continued unabated, some from across the border.

Pakistan interior minister Rehman Malik, a self-confessed fan, wished the star a speedy recovery. “I wish you to get well soon. I am one of your fans since I was a student,” Malik wrote on Twitter.

In Calcutta, fans held a yagna. “We are using the auspicious occasion of Maha Shiv Ratri to pray to Lord Shiva to help him recover painlessly from his health problems,” said Sourav Banerjee of Amitabh Bachchan Fans’ Association, which organised the ritual.
