Jamshedpur, Feb. 18: Dashing southpaw Saurabh Tiwary was today reappointed skipper of the Jharkhand Ranji squad for the inter-state (one-day) league to be held in Calcutta from February 22 to 29.
The 21-year-old opted to leave captaincy midway into the 2011-12 season after a reported tiff with coach Tarit Ghosh. He was replaced by left-arm spinner Shabaz Nadeem. The Royal Challengers batter was also dropped from the squad in the last Ranji league match against Goa, staged in Jamshedpur.
Besides Tiwary, the 15-member squad announced by JSCA secretary Rajesh Verma includes Ishank Jaggi, Kuldeep Sharma, Yajuvendra Krishanatry, Jaskaran Singh, Rahul Shukla, Nadeem, Sujit Yadav, Subrato Ghosh, Manish Vardhan, Ajatshatru, Kumar Deobrat, Deepak Chougule, Aakash Verma and wicketkeeper S.P. Gautam.
Debabrat Das, Vishal Singh, Asif Fahad and Ashish Yadav have been named in the squad as stand-byes.
In another development, Jharkhand pacer Rahul Shukla has made a comeback to Mumbai Indians for the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League. He was part of the team in IPL III.
A press release of the Mumbai Indians said Shukla was one of the five uncapped players who has been inducted in the team.
Known for his rattling speed, Shukla had also made a comeback to the Jharkhand Ranji outfit last year after overcoming a serious groin injury.
