Man in net for fake identity

Patna, Feb. 18: A middle-aged man was arrested today for trying to open an account with a private bank at Dakbungalow Roundabout with fake identity papers.

This morning, Babudham Singh, a resident of the state capital, went to the bank to open a current account and showed bank representatives a photocopy of a voter card that identified him as Sandeep Kumar. When bank officials asked Singh to produce the original voter’s identity card, he could not do so. “The officials sensed something foul because he became nervous when asked about the original card. A team of Kotwali police station came to the bank and took him in custody,” an officer at Kotwali police station said.

Singh reportedly told the police that he wanted to open the account on the request of a friend called Rajesh.
