Calcutta: The Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) joins the Hero Womens Professional Golf Tour with its first-ever pro event for ladies from Wednesday. The event will feature the 12 top lady golfers in the country, who will vie for a purse of Rs 3 lakh in the 10th leg of the Tour.
Though Sharmila Nicollet is away playing in New Zealand in her first European Tour event since achieving her Tour card last month, top names including Simi Mehra, Neha Tripathi, Nalini Singh Siwach and Vandana Agarwal will tee off on Wednesday. Shraddhanjali Singh will also be back this week.
The players have a lot to play for in the three-day event as the top-two on annual Hero OOM will receive two LET exemptions in the 2012-13 season.
