Michaelís alumni meet on Sunday

Patna, Feb. 10: St Michaelís Alumni Association will organise its annual day function at the institution on Sunday.

Around 250 pass-outs of the school, founded in 1858, are expected to participate in the event.

Gitesh Lohia, secretary of St Michaelís Alumni Association, said at a news conference: ďWe are going to organise our annual day function on February 12. The event will be organised at St. Michaelís High School. We will be felicitating some of our old teachers and also some of the alumnus who are associated with this school for over 25 years. We are planning to felicitate eight teachers on the occasion for which we have sent them invitation letters. Among them are P.S. Raj, K.N. Mishra and Phillip Jacob. Besides, we will felicitate some old alumni members who have had a long association with the school. So far we have felicitated alumnus up to the 1982 batch. This time we will felicitate those from the batches of 1983-1987. However, if we get any other older alumni member who has not been felicitated, we will do so that day. Besides, we will also honour this yearís CBSE toppers from standards 10 and 12.Ē

The association will also felicitate present principal of the school, Father B. Arockiasamy.

Aditya Kumar, president of St. Michaelís Alumni Association, said new office-bearers of the outfit will be selected as well on Sunday. ďNew office-bearers for the session 2012-2013 will be selected during the annual general meeting which is supposed to be held the same day. The annual day function will start with a friendly cricket match which will only have the participation of the alumni members. The alumni are supposed to come with their families. In the evening, we will organise a cultural programme. The various awards which will be presented to the alumni members, old teachers and toppers of various streams of standards 10 and 12 will be given away at the evening function,Ē he said.

Kumar said many reputed people are associated with the alumni association.

Bihar DGP Abhyanand, state rural development minister Nitish Mishra, cardiac surgeon Dr Ajit Pradhan are some of our alumnus. We are hoping to see them at the event,Ē Kumar said.
