She dares!

She slowly unbuttoned her blouse, covering herself only with the pallu, and he drew her towards him.... Debleena Dutt and Rajesh Sharma getting real raunchy in bed for Mukul Roychowdhury’s debut film Taan, which revolves around the “water prostitutes” of the Sunderbans.

For Debleena, who has “always wanted to play a prostitute on screen” and finally got to be one in Taan, the love-making scene was almost a breeze. “I have always mentioned that I have no inhibitions at all. I was very comfortable doing the love-making scene with Rajeshda. He is almost like a mother figure on the sets, taking care of me all the time!” says Debleena, playing Meghna. “I had played the prostitute Zeenat in the Zee Bangla mega serial Ek Akasher Niche but nobody remembers me in that role and playing a prostitute on the big screen is something else,” she adds.

Rajesh, of course, is a pro when it comes to doing bold scenes (think Paromitar Ekdin and Shubho Mahurat), but he isn’t for too much skin show or too much intimacy. “Not that I am inhibited, but I believe that our audience is mature enough to understand what happens in bed after a kiss! We really don’t need to show making out. I don’t like explicit love-making scenes in films. Leave certain things to the imagination of the audience nah!” he reasons.

In Taan, Rajesh plays Jahangir, a mafia boss who runs a brothel in the Sunderbans. “Meghna is Jahangir’s mistress, the place he had reserved for Sundari (Rituparna Sengupta) earlier.... The intimate scenes in both Paromitar Ekdin and Shubho Mahurat were shot very aesthetically. Besides, I have a reputation for being a father figure to my heroines with whom I have intimate moments!” he laughs.

Debleena vouches for that. “Rajeshda made sure I was comfortable. He told me which angle to take and how I should be careful with the pallu around my breasts.”

“Yes, I believe in respecting women. That’s why I always insist on a skeletal crew inside the room while shooting an intimate scene. While doing the scene with Debleena, I was concerned if she was covered properly and that the cloth shouldn’t slip,” says Rajesh.

Both Debleena and Rajesh are all praise for their man behind the camera, Manoj Mishra. “Manoj is a wonderful guy and he balanced the light and shade so well that it became really easy for us to do the scene,” signs off Rajesh.

In the mood for love: Tanushree and Riju shoot a romantic number for Shibendu Guha Biswas’s debut film Chhonya at Chitrabani, opposite Maulana Azad College. “I am an eccentric painter who has lost a lot of people in her life and suffers from depression as a result. Riju plays my boyfriend and Rudra (Rudranil Ghosh) plays a murderer who I hire to kill me but later fall in love with!” smiled Tanushree.
