Students injured in clash

Alipurduar, Feb. 6: More than 10 students, a police constable and two youths were hurt in a clash between Chhatra Parishad and Trinamul Chhatra Parishad supporters and the SFI members in Alipurduar College today.

The clash occurred when the SFI supporters, who won the polls, went to form the union. They were allegedly attacked by the rival group. The students also clashed outside the campus and a constable and two local people were hurt. They have been hospitalised along with three SFI members. Thirteen students have been arrested.

Siliguri: A programme on ways to prevent non-banking frauds was held here on Monday. The event was organised by Siliguri police and the Reserve Bank of India’s non-banking supervision department.
