Guwahati, Feb. 5: Manipur topped the overall points tally, followed by Kerala and hosts Assam on the concluding day of the 57th National School Games Taekwondo Championship at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bardoloi Indoor Stadium, Sarusajai sports complex here today.
Manipur finished with 35 points, Kerala with 34, while Assam ended their campaign with 32 points.
In the boys (under-17) group, Manipur bagged 18 points, Assam finished second with 14 points while Kerala was placed third with 12 points. In the girls (under-17) group, however, Kerala who dominated with 22 points. Hosts Assam were placed second with 18 points while Manipur and Maharashtra were joint third with 17 points each.
Laishram Dingko Singh of Goa was named the Best Fighter in the boys’ group while Tasim Begum of Assam was adjudged the Best Fighter in the girls’ group.
Sports minister Ajit Singh presided over the concluding day function and gave away the awards.
Altogether 323 students and officials participated in the four-day meet.
