With the last day of voting for the Cadbury Mishti Shera Shrishti contest in association with Anandabazar Patrika and The Telegraph, February 8, drawing near, celebrity judges Sandip Ray, Rakhi Purnima Dasgupta and Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay on Friday tasted some of the sweet innovations and picked their favourites for the special judges’ choice award. The judges were served nine special mishtis, one each from the nine contesting shops, without revealing the names of the sweet shops. Here’s what they had to say:

I found some of the sweets very interesting. It is very difficult to get the right balance of mishti and Cadbury, but some have managed to do it well. I personally liked Rocking Rabri, Choco Fusion and Choco Ball. I don’t remember such a competition being held in the city before. This contest was really exciting and it was good to see its popularity.

The idea of the contest, the campaign and the enthusiasm around it were great. The idea was to be innovative and come up with something with a new taste. I found Choco Fusion to be the most innovative. Choco Ball was a good integration because it tried something new. Kolaveri Di too was good.

Rocking Rabri, Choco Free Kick, Choco Ball and Choco Fusion were the ones I liked as they blended Cadbury and mishti well. If you taste Rocking Rabri, the flavours of both rabri and Cadbury come out well. The quality of the sweets is really good. It is good to see these old sweet shops taking part in such a challenging contest.
