AANLA camps
Guwahati, Feb. 1: Dispur has decided to set up new camps for All Adivasi National Liberation Army (AANLA) militants at Chungajan in Golaghat district, about 274km from Guwahati, after Nagaland Police allegedly burnt down two of their camps at Roman Basti along the inter-state border on Monday. The new camps will house around 100 cadres, the Assam Adivasi Peace Movement said on Wednesday.
Majuli funds
Guwahati: The Planning Commission on Wednesday sanctioned funds for the project, Protection of Majuli Island, Assam, from flood and erosion, Phase II and III. The Rs 115.99-crore project aims to protect 22 xatras and public/private properties and reconstruct roads and bridges destroyed by floods, It also aims at socio-economic development in the island.
