Barcelona: Andres Iniesta was forced to leave Wednesday’s Copa del Rey tie against Real Madrid after being injured. The teams drew 2-2, with Barcelona making it to the semis.
In another match, Athletic Bilbao beat Mallorca 1-0 to reach the semi-finals 3-0 on aggregate, where third-tier club Mirandes awaits.
Reds in final
Liverpool: Craig Bellamy’s second-half equaliser against his former club sent Liverpool into the League Cup final on Wednesday as the Reds rallied twice for a 2-2 draw against Manchester City to put them through on aggregate.
While Nigel de Jong and Edin Dzeko scored for City, Liverpool captain scored the other goal.
Tomic trouble
Gold Coast: Police issued two traffic infringement notices to Bernard Tomic after waiting outside his home while he spoke to a lawyer in the latest episode of a feud between the teenage Wimbledon quarter finalist and local officers.
Davis Cup
Melbourne: Lleyton Hewitt and Bernard Tomic will lead Australia in a Davis Cup Oceania zone play-off against China next month.
