OJEE forms from Feb

Bhubaneswar, Jan. 27: Sale of online and manual application forms for the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE)-2012 will start from February 10 and continue till March 15.

Vice-chairman of the OJEE committee Sitaram Mohapatra made the announcement today.

“The last date for receiving forms is March 22. Unlike last year, the entrance exam will be held on one date — May 6. The results will be published by the end of May,” said Mohapatra.

Mohapatra said the entrance exam for medical and dental courses would also be conducted under OJEE-2012. The Odisha government had earlier announced that the two courses would be a part of the centre’s national eligibility-cum-entrance test (NEET), while the OJEE was supposed to be held for courses in B. Tech, B. Arch, B. Pharm, M. Pharm, MBA and MCA.

“The Union health department had decided against holding the NEET for the coming academic session because of time constraints. Under this all-India entrance test, separate lists were to be published for each state and selection of candidates for government and private medical colleges was to be made on the basis of their performances,” he said.

Also, like previous years, the Central Board of Secondary Education would hold the All-India Pre-Medical Test to fill up 15 seats under the all-India quota for the states.

The preliminary test will be held on April 1 and the finals on May 13.

To send in their applications, OJEE aspirants can download the online forms at www.odishajee.com and attach it with a demand draft of Rs 550. The committee had introduced the online application system last year to attract more outstation candidates and had also increased the number of examination centres in the state.

The forms would also be available at nationalised banks in the state, the JEE Cell at Gandamunda here and GPOs of eight major cities such as Calcutta, Ranchi, Raipur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
