CM orders probe
Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has ordered a high-level probe into the Bonda tribe row. Naveen said he would take appropriate action after getting the inquiry reports. Media reports alleged that tour and travel operators were offering titillating “human safaris” to the tourists that provide a close look at the Bonda women, who remain semi-naked.
IPL tickets
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) would take the responsibility for selling tickets for the two matches of Indian Premier League (IPL)-V in April.
CA officials said they had already put forth their terms and conditions before the Deccan Chargers team,which had finalised Cuttack as the venue for its matches against Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders on April 19 and 22, respectively.
Accused held
Balasore: Balasore police on Wednesday nabbed an accused involved in the rape of a minor girl.The accused, identified as Suchit Das of village Dahanasuni, Garadpur in Bhadrak district, had confessed to the crime, the police said. He would be produced in court on Thursday after medical examination, said Sanjay Kumar, DIG, eastern range.
