Accident on NH 37
Jorhat: Four persons were feared dead in a road accident in a head-on collision between two trucks at Deopani bridge on NH 37 under Burapahar of Kaziranga National Park this evening. Both the trucks caught fire and the bodies are yet to be recovered.
Celebration
Jorhat: The birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was observed at Garali by the Garali Samabai Sanstha and Pragati, a socio-cultural organisation. The Lakshmi Union Club and Lakshmi Union School also separately observed the day here.
Committee
Jorhat: A committee with prominent persons and freedom fighter Debeswar Doley as chairman was formed on Monday in a meet chaired by Social Welfare and Prisons minister Akon Bora to chalk out a plan to commemorate 100 years of Jorhat Central Jail.
Mishap
Dhubri: Nearly 50 passengers travelling in a bus were injured when it overturned on the road at Bhaktardoba market under Barpeta district. Four passengers of an auto and Magic van we-re injured when they collided with a truck at Matiabag in Dhubri district on Sunday night.
