Truck mows down 4

Sheikhpura, Jan. 21: At least four persons were killed and five others injured when a speeding truck hit them from behind near Chewara roundabout on Sheikhpura-Jamui road in Sheikhpura district on Saturday evening. he injured have been admitted to Sadar hospital at Sheikhpura. Sub-divisional police officer Santosh Kumar said the truck was set on fire by residents, who were protesting against rash driving.

Bikes found

Patna: Three motorbikes stolen by two youths were recovered on Saturday. The duo were arrested by the Patrakar Nagar police station on Friday while they were trying to steal a motorbike from the Vijay Nagar area under the Patrakar Nagar police station.

Guard dead

Patna: A guard of a private security agency was found hanging on Saturday morning at his duty room under the Chowk police station of Patna City. No suicide note has been recovered and the body has been sent for a postmortem.

Accident

Hajipur: A woman was killed and six others were injured when a vehicle barged into a shop located at Botla chowk on Hajipur-Mahua road on Saturday. The injured have been admitted to the Sadar hospital at Hajipur for treatment where the condition of two was stated to be serious.

Mob fury

Patna: Two persons, including a woman, were run over by a train at Sipara in the Jakkanpur police station area on Saturday evening. Irate residents of the area set ablaze a JCB machine in protest against the accident. he machine was being used for the construction of a road beneath Sipara bridge. Police said the accident took place when some people were crossing the unmanned train tracks. Some residents complained that they had to cross to the other side of the road through the train tracks because a link road was closed for the past two days because of some construction work.
