Replying to a request by a trustee to clear the sidewalks leading to the temple, Mamata said: “There are shops here that were set up many years ago. It will be difficult to do anything. We will see if an underpass can be constructed to reduce the congestion.” The chief minister declared January 12 a state holiday to mark the birth anniversary of Vivekananda.
