New Delhi, Jan. 4 (PTI): The CBI has set up an anti-human trafficking unit at its headquarters in Delhi to conduct operations against women and child traffickers and deal with kidnapping cases.
y person giving information leading to the arrest of traffickers and criminal action against them will get a reward of up to Rs 2 lakh, a CBI statement said today. It activated a helpline number 011-24368638 on which information can be given.

Tuticorin (PTI): A man, whose six months pregnant wife died after a surgery at a government hospital in Tuticorin on December 30, returned on Monday and murdered the doctor who operated on her, police said. The man, who blamed the doctor for negligence, and three accomplices have been arrested.
New Delhi (PTI): Tihar Jail will be the first prison in the country to install a full body scanner on its premises to stop inmates from smuggling in narcotics, cellphones and weapons.
Kottayam (PTI): A Japanese tourist was found hanging in a hotel in Keralas Idukki district, police said on Wednesday. Noraka Bos, 46, and her husband had checked into the hotel on Monday with a group of tourists. They stayed back in the hotel while others went for trekking on Tuesday.
Agra (PTI): BJP leader Rana Prataps son Vikas allegedly shot a hawker on Wednesday for not giving free newspapers, police said. Vikas, along with an accomplice, beat hawker Ram Kumar, 22, and shot him twice in the chest when he refused to give free newspapers to the duo on January 1. The victim is said to be in a critical condition in a hospital.

New Delhi (PTI): The income tax department has slapped a demand notice of Rs 135 crore on Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS couple Arvind and Tinu Joshi for alleged tax evasion. They found that the couple owned movable and immovable assets of Rs 360 crore after searches.
