Festival With A Cause

What: Ordnance Club presents Project Sunshine partnered by t2.

By night: A packed dance floor

Where: Ordnance Club.

When: December 25.

Mood & music: The ‘dance music festival’ that featured over 40 solo singers, bands and DJs was doubly special for the noble cause it was upholding as a fund-raising platform for underprivileged children under the care of Project Sunshine.

After a yummylicious lunch, the tiny tots put on their dancing shoes to groove to some Bollywood scores as DJ Ravi, also the founder of Project Sunshine, cheered them on. “This is our second edition and I can definitely feel that Tonight’s Gonna Be A Good Night!” he smiled.

Calcutta-based band Srote, who were among the top 10 bands to perform at MTV Rock On, performed first. Next up was Christopher Lobo who got the crowd grooving with his rendition of Roop tera mastana and Daddy Cool. The celebratory note hit a high pitch with the Khurshid Brothers — Kamran and Faizan — also known as the Backstreet Boys of Calcutta! They crooned and danced to a medley of We Will Rock You, Tonight, Chammak challo and the anthem of the year, Kolaveri di. DJs Upasana, Raj and Yafi and VJ Veenit further pumped up the party tempo.

By day: A magic show kept the kids glued to the stage

“I have been with Project Sunshine since its inception and make it a point to respond to their call every time they come up with such events,” said Kamran, adding that the audience was “awesome”.

A flea market to raise money for Project Sunshine offered fun T-shirts, junk jewellery and food items. A magic show left the kids spellbound.

She was wearing: Mostly trendy winter wear but the chill could not play fashion police to all as some stylishly stepped out in their LBDs and LWDs, matching stockings and all!

Club speak: Col. Deven Bhardwaj, the president of Ordnance Club, was spotted soaking in the Christmas cheer. Seema Bhardwaj, the first lady of the club, said: “It’s not every day that we can bring a smile to someone’s face, and in this case, a smile on a child’s face.”
