IISWBM, Calcutta

Last date: January 6 Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) invites applications for a course in export-import, freight forwarding and risk management for both working executives as well as students from January 10 next year.

Eligibility: Graduates in any discipline are eligible. The course consists of 30 lectures each of two hours duration, from 6-8 pm. There would be two classes per week. The course fee is Rs 7,500 for working executives.

Seagull School of Publishing, Calcutta

Last date: February 15 The Seagull School of Publishing invites applications for certificate programmes in publishing, editing, design and production.

Eligibility: Admission to the programme requires a bachelors in any discipline. Individuals who want to explore publishing as a career or already are a part of the publishing industry can apply for the course. Publishing entrepreneurs, professional and amateur writers, graphic designers, mid-career professionals are encouraged to apply. The course is scheduled from April to July 2012.

Bits Pilani, Pilani, Rajasthan

Last date: February 15 Birla Institute of Technology and Science (Bits), Pilani, invites applications for Bitsat 2012, a computer-based online test on the basis of which admission to all the integrated first degree programmes takes place.

Eligibility: Candidates must clear Plus Two exams with physics, chemistry and mathematics and should have a minimum of 75 per cent aggregate marks in all subjects. Those who have ranked first in centre / state-level board exams in Idia would be given direct admission to the programme of their choice irrespective of their Bitsat scores. Interested candidates should register for Bitsat 2012 by applying in the prescribed application form available at www.bitsadmission.com. Fees for Bitsat 2012 is Rs 1,600 (Rs 1100 for female candidates).

 

Indian Institute of Technology, Madras

Last date: January 20 Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, invites applications for humanities and social sciences entrance exam (HSEE), 2012, for admission to integrated master of arts programmes (MA) in development studies and English. The duration of the programmes is five years.

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed Plus Two in 2012. Those who belong to general and OBC categories must secure at least 60 per cent marks and those of SC, STcategories must secure at least 55 per cent marks. Online application starts from December 20.
