From the floors

1 Arjun Chakrabarty, who plays Bapi in Sudeshna Roy-Abhijit Guha’s Bapi Bari Jaa, didn’t look like he wanted to go home when t2 caught him grooving with Mimi Chakraborty at Tantra on Friday. The lead pair of the film produced by Prosenjit’s Ideas were shooting a nightclub sequence.

2 Miriam, an acting student and salsa dancer from Wisconsin who’s visiting Calcutta, bagged an item number. “The track she is singing at the nightclub has actually been sung by Usha Uthup. It goes Let Me Love You, written by Chandrani and composed by Jeet Gannguli.... The sequence shows the lifestyle of the young,” said Sudeshna.
The third couple in the film, played by Teesta Datta and Anindya Chatterjee, are also fresh faces. Pictures by Pradip Sanyal

3 Pamela hits the floor with Dhruva Lal, a third-year student at Jadavpur University who debuts in Bapi Bari Jaa.
