Coins recovered
Jorhat, Dec. 1: Police and Jorhat district museum authorities today recovered 14 silver coins from Parbotiagaon here. The Victorian-era coins were found during a digging operation carried out at a xatra in the village.

Guwahati: Aftab Hussain Saikia, retired chief justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Thursday took charge as the chairperson of Assam Human Rights Commission. The post was vacant since May when Justice Sujit Barman Roy resigned as the rights panel chairperson.

Dhubri: Rajibul Hussain, 13, a student of Class VII in Pachaniya MV School under Jogighopa police station of Bongaigaon died on the spot when a car hit him at Pachaniya on Wednesday night.
