Food inflation at 10.63%

New Delhi, Nov. 17: Food inflation eased marginally to 10.63 per cent for the week ended November 5, prompting finance minister Pranab Mukherjee to say it is a “good sign” and the common man will get some relief if the trend continues. Food inflation, as measured by the wholesale price index, was at 11.81 per cent in the week ended October 29.

Mumbai, Nov. 17: Mutual fund investors will now get a monthly consolidated statement of all their transactions in different fund houses, the Association of Mutual Funds in India said today.

Vodafone woe

New Delhi, Nov. 17: The Delhi high court has issued contempt notices against five officials of Vodafone Essar for allegedly violating its order asking the telecom major to restore services of Matrix Cellular, which offers telecom solutions to Indians visiting abroad, for the next two months for providing help to post-paid subscribers.

M&M pact

New Delhi, Nov. 17: Mahindra & Mahindra and Telephonics — a unit of US-based diversified Griffon Corp — have agreed to form a joint venture to provide surveillance and communication devices to the Indian defence sector.

Jet Airways

Mumbai, Nov. 17: Jet Airways has taken delivery of its 100th aircraft —a Boeing 737800 — in Seattle. The aircraft will be the third of its kind, configured with eight premium and 162 economy seats. It will start commercial operations from December 5.
