Baba gets jail term
Puri session court on Monday sentenced Baba Padma Charan Das with rigorous life imprisonment for killing one 65-year-old Biranchi Naryan Senapati. On May 16, 2006, Mohapatra had bludgeoned Senapati to death and left the place by locking the door of his room from outside. fter committing crime, Das had fled to Kanas area taking mobile phone, gold ornaments and the cash. Later Das portrayed himself as a “baba” and engaged in religious discourses. However, tracking the mobile phone, police managed to arrest him after four months.
