Football tourney
The intra-city leg of the 2nd Mahindra Youth Football Challenge will begin on Monday with 32 leading schools vying to become the ‘champions school’ of the city. The winners will then lock horns with five other champions from Bangalore, Mumbai, Goa, Delhi and Kerala to decide the ultimate winners. While the winners’ purse will be Rs 30,000, runners up will receive Rs 20,000.
Bagan meet
Hosts Mohun Bagan Football Academy, TFA and six other teams will be seen in action when the 1st All-India Inter-Academy tournament gets under way in Durgapur on November 19. The final is slated for November 14.

Beighton Cup
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) thrashed Canara Bank 7-3 in a Group A quarter final league match of the Beighton Cup, on Friday. In the other quarter final match from Group B, Army XI, Delhi, and Secunderabad’s South Central Railway settled for a 2-2 draw.
