Five drown in Ganga

Patna: At least five persons, including four children, drowned on Thursday while bathing in Ganga near the Maner police station area. he police said bodies of three children have been found.

Pirated CDs

Patna: A huge stock of pirated CDs was recovered from Banjara Gali under Gandhi Maidan police station on Thursday. One person was arrested.

Teachers’ test

Patna: Human resource development minister P.K. Shahi on Thursday said the Teachers’ Elementary Test secondary-level examination will be held next January.

Cycle scheme

Patna: The state human resource development department would distribute funds for Mukhyamantri Cycle Yojana from November 14 to 19.

Rebels held

Sasaram/Munger: A Maoist, identified as Shivmuni Kharbar, was arrested from Chenarai police station area in Rohtas on Thursday. Another rebel, Babloo Yadav, was arrested from Bangalwa forest in Munger.

Flight delay

Patna: Air India’s Delhi-Patna-Delhi flight was delayed by almost three hours on Thursday. The flight, scheduled to arrive at Patna at 8.05am, arrived at 10.40am.

Mukhiya shot

Sitamarhi: Criminals shot at Ranjitpur panchayat village head Ram Pravesh Ram at Ranjitpur village on Wednesday evening. Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar said the incident occured when Ram was performing puja on Diwali.

Mishap

Hajipur: An autorickshaw was hit by Maurya Express at an unmanned level crossing near Hajipur in Vaishali district. No casualty was reported.

Arrests

Purnea: An illicit liquor unit at Majhaulia village was sealed on Wednesday and three people were arrested. Bihar excise and liquor prohibition superintendent Rambabu said: “We have sealed the manufacturing unit run by Manoj Yadav, the former village head of Majhaulia.”
