PM meet on policy options
New Delhi, Oct. 14: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has called a meeting tomorrow to discuss policy options with regard to slowing economic growth and high inflation. “The meeting is on the economic situation. We will discuss growth and inflation and consider the policy options in this regard,” C. Rangarajan, chairman of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, said.

New Delhi, Oct. 14: India has signed tax information exchange pacts with 16 countries in the last 12 months to draw information on concealed income stashed abroad in tax havens.

Mumbai, Oct. 14: The RBI has raised the limit for retaining foreign currency abroad to $3,000 per transaction for exporters against the existing $500. The value per transaction has been raised for export-related remittances received through online payment gateway service providers.
