AMCH doctors arrested

Jorhat: Police on Saturday night arrested two junior doctors, Arvinda Kumar Dayal and Anup Mishra, (in picture by UB Photos) of the Assam Medical College and Hospital , Dibrugarh, for their alleged involvement in the attack on reporters on Wednesday night at the casualty ward of the hospital.

Body found

Silchar: The body of an engineer, Subrata Ranjan Nath, who died in an earthquake in Sikkim on September 18, was recovered on Saturday night. The body of Nath, 70, who was the chief project adviser of the Teesta Urja Hydro Power Project, was found buried under heaps of debris.

Plantation

Jorhat: Members of Lions Club of Jorhat planted saplings on the premises of Tinkunia Pukhuri here on Sunday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. A meeting was held at the Freedom Fighters’ Rest House here under the presidentship of freedom fighter Debeshwar Doley.

Drowned

Nalbari: The body of an unidentified person was found floating in the Pagladia river at Makrapara under Belsor police station here on Sunday morning. The body bore injury marks on the head.

IED recovered

Dhubri: The CRPF recovered an IED weighing 3.5kg from a Dhubri-bound bus on Sunday. It was wrapped in a bag and hidden under the seat. No one was arrested.
