Bangalore, Oct. 1 (PTI): A Karnataka BJP minister was today beaten with slippers in the state secretariat by a party worker, who was apparently angry at not being made the head of a corporation.
The worker B.S. Prasad, a small-time civil contractor, accosted housing minister V. Somanna as he emerged from his room in the Vidhana Soudha and hit him with his slippers, police said.
What have I done to you? Why did you beat me with a slipper? a stunned Somanna asked. His supporters later thrashed Prasad as the police took him into custody.
Bangalore police commissioner Jyoti Prakash Mirji said Prasad entered the secretariat with a valid visitors pass from the security wing.
