New Webel MD

Calcutta, Sept. 30: Webel will get its new managing director beginning October 1. Prabir Kumar Das, executive director (technical) has been promoted to the post of the new managing director. Confirming the development, Bengal IT minister Partha Chatterjee said, “He met the criteria and the selection was undertaken by a committee.” Former Webel managing director Tamal Dasgupta had completed his tenure in March.

ATF price hike

New Delhi, Sept. 30: PSU oil firms today hiked jet fuel, or ATF, price by 1.5 per cent for the second time this month as the falling rupee made oil imports costlier. ATF price at Delhi’s Terminal 3 was hiked by Rs 899 per kilolitre, or 1.5 per cent, to Rs 58,578 per kl from midnight tonight, an Indian Oil official said.

Bhel float

New Delhi, Sept. 30: Bhel today filed papers with market regulator Sebi for its follow-on public offer, which will see the government offloading its 5 per cent stake in the company.

BlackBerry

New Delhi, Sept. 30: A possible solution to end the stalemate between BlackBerry and the government over security issues is in the offing as smartphone manufacturer RIM has submitted a plan for real-time interception, which is being tested in the department of telecom.
