Two more flights to New Delhi

Ranchi, Sept. 29: Capital residents will get two extra pairs of wings next month.

Drawn by demand for more flying options, private airline GoAir has decided to launch its services in the Ranchi-Delhi sector from October 8.

Kingfisher, which already operates in the sector, will start a morning flight from October 30.

The GoAir flight will take off from Delhi at 5.20pm and reach here at 7pm. On its return path, it will take off from Birsa airport at 7.30pm and reach Delhi at 9.10pm.

“Ranchi has emerged as a top tier-III city. We will offer connections to Mumbai via Delhi in days to come,” said a GoAir official.

Currently, there are four flights in the Ranchi-Delhi sector — two operated by Air India and one each by Jet Airways and Kingfisher.

However, late evening hours and morning hours after 8am are never busy as far as air traffic is concerned. This room is being eyed by airlines.

Kingfisher officials said that the number of fliers to the national capital from Ranchi had increased manifold over the years and hence the airline had decided on its second service in this sector.
