Aid for Sikkim

The state government on Thursday provided Rs 5 crore financial aid to quake-hit Sikkim for relief and rescue operations. We have decided to donate Rs 5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to Sikkim for helping quake-hit victims,” said Nitish Kumar.

Around seven lakh meritorious students belonging to Mahadalit community enrolled in government schools would be having a unique scholarship bank account. These would enable beneficiaries to withdraw scholarship money by January 2012.
