4-yr-old dead
A four-year-old boy died on Sunday morning after a lorry hit him on Saturday night at Narkelbagan in Haridevpur. According to police, Sonu Sutar was playing on the road in front of his house when the lorry hit the child. Residents rushed him to SSKM Hospital where the child succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.
Injured
Two persons were injured in separate road accidents on VIP Road since Saturday night. Pijush Roy, in his early 50s, was seriously injured when a car hit him while he was crossing the airport-bound flank on Saturday night. He was taken to RG Kar hospital, from where he was shifted to a private healthcare unit. On Sunday morning, three persons were injured when the motorcycle they were riding hit the divider. None was wearing a helmet. The three were admitted to a nursing home in Baguiati.
Remand
Amaresh Roy, the 82-year-old Sodepur resident who allegedly killed his wife last Tuesday and made an abortive suicide attempt, was remanded in 14 days’ judicial custody on Sunday. Roy was undergoing treatment in hospital after he surrendered to police early on Wednesday.
Missing
An 11-year-old boy has been missing since Saturday evening from his Tiljala residence. According to police, Gautam Hela was scolded by his mother after he lost the keys of his house.
