After trying his hand at direction with Mausam, actor Pankaj Kapur will now be singing for the film as well. Well, not quite on the soundtrack.

Kapur will sing live at Mausam’s music success party — a first for him. He is going to perform the song Saj dhaj ke and Kapur has been practising hard for the past few days. In the film the song has been voiced by Mika Singh.

Apart from Kapur and Mika, singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Tochi Raina and Hard Kaur are also going to perform at the upcoming success party.

“I am glad that the film’s music has really been appreciated and we want to celebrate that. We are trying to get all the singers to come and sing. I too would be singing,” confirmed Kapur.

A source close to Kapur revealed: “Pankajji loves music and knows a lot about Punjabi folk songs. He gave a lot of valuable inputs for the film’s music. He keeps singing in front of his friends but has never sung at an occasion. He is very excited to perform live in front of the entire cast of the film, especially son Shahid and wife Supriya.”

Mausam, starring Shahid and Sonam Kapoor, releases on September 16.
