BPSC reply sought
Patna:
A bench of Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi of the high court on Friday asked the Bihar Public Service Commission to file its reply by August 16 on a petition filed by Manoj Kumar and others challenging the commission’s decision to announce preliminary test results of civil services examination by abruptly deleting eight marks out of 150. he petitioners submitted that the commission published the results of combined civil services examination (53rd to 55th) on the basis of 142 marks. The matter would be heard on August 16.

Patna:
The police headquarters on Friday sent R.S. Bhatti, inspector-general (IG) of police (Special Branch), who is also holding additional charge of IG, Patna zone, to Rohtas. Bhatti later held a meeting with the Rohtas superintendent of police, deputy superintendents of police and the station house officers of police stations located in Naxalite-affected areas at Dehri-on-Sone.

Murder case
Patna:
Two persons allegedly involved in he murder of private bus owner Ravikant Choudhary were arrested. Police said the men have been identified as Bal Mukund Singh, known to be a right hand man of main accused Kundan Singh and Yugal Kishore alias Pappu.

A student trying to get admission in Ram Jaipal college on the forged signature of the principal Ram Shrestha Rai on Friday was handed over to police.
