Order for plot seizure
Patna:
Chief judicial magistrate of Patna High Court on Wednesday issued an order of attachment of property against transporter Kundan Singh and his son Mantoo Singh in the murder case of bus owner Ravikant Choudhary. he court also issued proclamation notice against another named accused Kripa Shankar Singh in the case.
Threat to MLA
Patna:
Janata Dal (U) MLA from Ashthawa Jitendra Kumar has received a threat through SMS on Tuesday, police said. On Wednesday, another SMS was sent to him demanding Rs 10 lakh as extortion money. One person has been detained.
Capsize
Patna:
A boat with 35 passengers capsized after hitting a rock in river Ganga near Bind Toli under the Digha police station area at 10am on Wednesday. One Inder Devi drowned. The rest 34 passengers were saved.

A division bench of the high court comprising Justice S.K. Katriar and Justice A. Amanullah on Wednesday stayed the interview, which was scheduled to start from August 3, process for the recruitment of more than 20 principals of colleges of Magadh University.

A division bench of Justice S.K. Katriar and Justice A. Amanullah on Wednesday asked the Bihar government and dissident JD (U) Munger MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh to approach the central government and Planning Commission to accord special state category status to Bihar.

Patna:
High court judge Navaniti Prasad Singh on Wednesday directed all the universities of the state to pay salaries to those teachers whose retirement age has been enhanced from 62 to 65.
Fine
Patna:
Justice A.K. Tripathi on Wednesday imposed fine of Rs 5,000 on additional inspector general of police (jail) Umakant Sharan for filing vague and non-speaking counter affidavit in connection with departmental proceedings initiated against Nawal Prasad Singh, who retired in August 2008 as director, probation, jail.
