Captains’ parade in 100th Test

Calcutta: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Wednesday announced plans to celebrate the 100th India-England Test, which is the first Test of the current series.

The highlight of the occasion, on Thursday, at Lord’s, will be a parade of past players which will include former captains of both countries such as Ian Botham, Bob Willis, Nasser Hussain, Ravi Shastri and Sourav Ganguly.

BCCI president Shashank Manohar, BCCI honorary secretary N. Srinivasan, ECB chairman Giles Clarke and ECB chief executive David Collier will mark the occasion at the toss on the first day of the match through an exchange of mementoes between the respective Boards.

Former India and England captains and players will be presented with a specially made commemorative cap at an on-field ceremony to be held during Sunday’s lunch interval.
