Amazing grace

Style according to you is…

Style is the outward representation of the inner person. When there’s no conflict between the manifested outer image and the inner person — to me that’s true style.

How would you describe your closet — well-organised and spanking clean or dreadfully cluttered?

The state of my closet depends on my dance schedule. On days when I have a performance or a photo shoot, everything’s a mess. But on quieter days, it’s well-organised with everything in place.

Which character out of history would you like to dress as?

The wonderful women in Raja Ravi Verma’s paintings. I played two of them Damyanti and Menaka in a documentary dance drama.

Inherited treasures…

My grandmother’s diamond nose pin

Latest buys

Red lac bangles with silver motifs from a silver store in Dariba in Chandni Chowk

Essentials in your handbag

Kajal, cardamom, hand wash and mobile

One aspect of fashion that bugs you most…

The huge amount of waste that fashion implies. How can anyone with a conscience embrace fashion when so many people can barely fulfil their basic needs?

A fashion/beauty tip...

Your inner personality can never be camouflaged. What you are inside is always revealed. So it’s best to work on improving that.
