Canberra, July 10 (Reuters): Australia today unveiled its most sweeping economic reform in decades with a plan to tax carbon emissions, reviving hopes of stronger global climate action with the largest emissions trade scheme outside Europe. About 500 companies, including steel and aluminium manufacturers would have to pay 23 Australian dollars ($24.70) per tonne carbon tax from next year.
