Strike threat

Imphal, July 5: The joint administrative council of government employees’ organisations today warned chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh that they would go on strike if their demands, including implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission’s recommendations, are not fulfilled by July 17.

Health camp

Jorhat: Dr Tapan Saikia, a Mumbai-based oncologist, will be available for free consultation during the second phase of Project Kiran, a free medical camp for cancer patients, organised under the CSR programme of ONGC Assam Asset on Saturday, a release said.

Salary stalled

Dhubri: Dhubri district elementary education officer Phulendra Kalita in an order issued on Tuesday asked the Dhubri district treasury officer not to release the salaries of four headmasters of the district for their alleged involvement in misappropriation of funds and rice meant for midday meal.

Inquiry

Dhubri: Dhubri superintendent of police Pradip Chandra Saloi ordered an inquiry into the alleged sale of ganja from Chagolia police outpost on Tuesday.
