Jorhat, July 1: The State Bank of India gave a grant of Rs 6000 to Mousumi Talukdar, an underprivileged girl who passed her matriculation this year, on its foundation day today.

Bail

Dibrugarh: Bipul Rava, the president of Dibrugarh District Youth Congress Committee, and two of his associates, vice-president Rubul Bora and general secretary Hiren Gogoi, were granted bail after the trio surrendered at Barbaruah police station on Thursday night. The trio had beaten up two engineers of a private company in Dibrugarh.

Kokrajhar: Three persons of a family, including two children, ere trampled to death by wild elephants in Simaluguri village in Baksa district on Thursday evening.
