Most of the 40-odd drivers of the Airports Authority of India-operated vehicles went on a strike on Tuesday following a clash between groups backed by Trinamul and the Citu. He was on his way from Guwahati to Bhubaneswar.

Deb petition

Former housing minister and Hidco chairman, Gautam Deb, moved the metropolitan magistrate’s court for permission to file a petition requesting the court not to maintain the defamation petition filed against him by Trinamul Congress general secretary Mukul Roy. In his petition, Roy has sought penal action against Deb for allegedly making adverse comments about Trinamul. Roy’s lawyers opposed Deb’s prayer. The matter will be heard on July 12.
