Pamei in semis

Imphal, May 27: T. Pamei sailed into the semi-final of the 2nd State Open Squash Championship at Officer’s Club, Lamphelpat.

Pamei, playing in the veteran category, came up with his first win defeating N. Kangjamba Singh 11-2, 11-13, 11-3 and later got the better of Mani Luwang 11-5, 11-6 and I. Indrajit 11-4, 11-8. Playing his fourth match of the day, Pamei overcame A. Laxmikanta 11-6, 9-11, 11-6 en route to the semis.

In veterans’ category matches, K. Laxmikanta defeated I. Indrajit 11-5 and 11-4, T. Joy Singh beat L. Sharat 11-6 and 11-8 and M. Matum defeated I. Sharat 7-11, 11-7, 11-7.

In other matches of the Men’s Open, K. Tomba beat E. Borex Singh 11-3, 12-10 but Bonex jumped back defeating Th. Santosh 11-6, 11-3 in another match.
