Man stabs wife

Dhubri, May 18: Hased Ali, 35, of Dayarchar village allegedly killed his wife, Nasiquenoor Begum, 26, for her extramarital affair at midnight last night.

Family sources said Nasiquenoor was stabbed with a dagger while she was in deep sleep and she died before she could be taken to the nearby hospital.

Kharuabandha police rushed to Ali’s house and recorded her dying statement wherein she said she was stabbed by her husband.

Hased Ali fled the village after the murder.

The Alis married seven years back and were happy till Nasiquenoor started having an affair which naturally led to a conflict, a villager said.

“The matter was even brought to the panchayat for amicable settlement but it did not help,” the villager said.
